Client:
Contract Value:
circa $1m
Location:
Maryborough
Completion:
August, 2023
Scope of Works:
The project was located in Maryborough, from Alice Street to Elena Street. The project involved the replacement of the existing stormwater drainage infrastructure on the western side of Lennox Street to meet current standards. During construction, to minimise impacts of CBD traffic and Station Square shopping centre, works were undertaken at night with the site being reinstated to a trafficable state each morning utilising a cut and cover arrangement.
Significant excavation required in highly constrained site of depths up to three metres requiring a combination of benching and shoring. Complex service management due to age of area, with multiple unidentified services being identified during construction. Proximity of underground gas main to works required APA gas-watch nominees to be on site during excavations. Proximity to overhead services required Ergon safety advice.
The extent of work involved:
- Excavation and earthworks
- Replacement of existing drainage systems with a combination of polypropylene and concrete pipes.
- Installation of gully pits and manholes
- Pavement reinstatement
- New kerb and channel
- Concrete invert construction
- Signage and pavement marking
